The point of a Bible reading plan is a child in God's Word every day, not just hearing about it. Each plan moves through Scripture a passage at a time. Every day gives your child a verse to remember and space to think and pray about what they read.
What a day in a plan looks like
Every day follows the same simple shape:
- A short setup. A few sentences that frame the question, or the part of the story, for that day.
- Find It in the Word. Your child opens and reads several short passages from the day themselves. The day is not finished until each one has been opened, because reading Scripture is the point of the plan.
- Talk About It. A few questions to think through or discuss together.
- Verse to Remember. A verse from that day to learn. A practice step reads it back, then a quick word game, putting the words in order, filling in a blank, or unscrambling, then a recall check. Over a plan your child builds up a handful of verses.
- Pray Together. A short read-aloud prayer to close the day.
- Write About This. An optional journal entry that walks through the Scripture, what your child noticed, what it means for them, and a prayer.
Finished days fill in as the plan goes, and completing a day, then the whole plan, earns a celebration and counts toward badges. A quiet reading soundtrack can be switched on, and each plan sits alongside the rest of the Wonda library.
Why a plan, and not just an open Bible
Children grow in Scripture by reading it themselves, coming back to it day after day, and leaving with something to hold on to. A plan makes all three normal. Your child reads the real passages rather than a retelling, returns the next day to the next part, and finishes with verses learned and prayers said. Across a plan, that becomes a child who has spent real time in God's Word and can tell you what they found there.
Doing a plan together
Plans are easy to do side by side. The setup, the questions, the verse and the prayer are all written to be read out loud, so a parent and child can move through a day together, or an older child can do it alone and tell you about it after. Let each child mark their own progress. Up to four child profiles are covered by one family subscription.
Where plans fit with the daily journey
Wonda Daily's core is a short six-step journey each day: a devotional, a quiz, a puzzle, spoken faith promises, quiet time and journaling. A Bible reading plan is an add-on a child can pick up whenever they want more time in one part of Scripture. If you would rather your child choose a devotional to move through day by day, see the kids' devotionals instead.
